Let me ask you a question: "Why do you do what you do?" How you answer that questions tells a lot about you, and how you really are inside.

This is important, because a lot of motivation comes from within. We've all known (or know) people who seem to lack any spark in their lives. They often move from crisis to crisis and appear to be waiting (almost in some kind of bizarre anticipation) for the other shoe to fall. Their drive, or motive, in life is survival. This doesn't seem to be the best way to live, does it?

On the other hand, many people are positive, looking for that silver lining, helping someone else, or improving their position and experience in life. These can find the way to turn drudgery or even survival into a positive opportunity to accomplish their goals.

Goals. Maybe that's the secret. Their motive is the attainment of goals and tend to see most situations as a step (no matter how small) toward achieving those goals.

If you need some self-motivation, try setting some goals, both short-term and long-term. WRITE THEM DOWN (an important key step). Then, begin measuring everything you do with your goals in view. Watch your inner motivation change!
